Pedicure Treatment for Dry Skin
I have discussed with you on one of the most importance nail care aspect in the previous entries which is pedicure. Well before you do your own pedicure, please check your feet skin’s type or condition, if you are having dry skin problem on your feet you have to give more attention especially when you want to do the pedicure. I have recently read an article of pedicure treatment for dry skin. Here is what I’ve read from a website.
“Sometimes dry skin is also called Xerosis and this can be particularly troublesome especially when it happens on the feet. The feet are the most used part of the human body and as such warrants added attention that we often neglect to give. Dry skin on the feet are of particular trouble as it can both cause mobility problems if the skin is ruptured and can also be the high threat of infection since the feet are normally exposed to extremely dirty and pathogen infested areas. Not to mention, dry skin on feet also look very ugly.
Dry skin, especially at the feet is mostly due to the lack of moisture in the surrounding area which dries out the skin. This is particularly true because the skin on the feet are thicker than on any other place on the body thus cannot be nourished as readily from under the skin like skin from other places. This also means that skin on the feet is much more likely to crack due to its thickness.
There are effectively 2 pedicure methods in which dry skin can be treated. The first method is to actually file down the outer dry skin to reveal newer skin that isn’t dry and do this regularly in order to maintain appearance and skin health. The other method is to leave the skin un-filed but to apply deep moisturizer on the feet which will effectively moisturize the dry skin. Each method has its own benefits.
